I am a very HAPPY camper!
Our Cougar did not come pre-fitted for a washer and dryer and saving the laundry for days until it was overflowing the basket was getting problematic.
We like to camp off-grid and unplugged as much as possible, and come laundry time meant finding a RV campground JUST to do laundry.
The worst part was that when we (translated: ME) got somewhere to do laundry, it took lots of quarters! Several times I stuffed it all into one washer because I didn’t have enough of the coins. That usually resulted in not-so-clean clothes and even less dry, meaning wrinkled and stiff.
So, I finally had my own laundry set installed. Well worth it to me.
If you remember my last post, we relocated the bathroom door. We used the nice “unused” door with the glass insert from the “hallway”. Since we always go through the bathroom to get to the bedroom this made this door now a nice visual piece.
Why they decided to hide it back in the hall is beyond me. The doorway it came from is now wide open, so I merely put up a tension rod with a blackout curtain in its place.
No biggie, because I had planned to put the washer-dryer set in the hallway (that never got used).
Here is a series of photos to help you see what was involved, in case you are inspired to do something like this. 🙂
Great BIG shout-out to Eddie of Mobile Homestead Solar Services!
The pictures didn’t come out in order of the installation. I apologize.
We should talk. You don’t say, but I assume that is a gas dryer. You need a trap in the washer drain to prevent sewer gas from getting up inside the rig. I don’t see one? My email address is in my blog.
Bob
Hey Bob, actually it’s an electric dryer. Only got used when plugged on somewhere.
