Love the RV Life!

Selma Park on Lake Nocona, Texas

This was a very memorable place.
Not too far from Bowie Texas.

Abundant wildflowers this time of year.

We set up camp on the edge of the ramp parking lot with a great view of the water and flowers!

The maintenance guy came near with a lawn mower and when I realized he was going to cut these little beauties (the pics dont do them justice) I stopped him and asked to go around our little area.

Selma Park Nocona Tx

One of the BEST things I love about this is I can have my kayak in the water ready to go!
These are shots before I put in:

There is one major caveat about this place, very weak Verizon cell reception.
If there was better reception, I would have known about a storm front coming in.

Late in the afternoon, it started to get windy and then rain. Pretty soon the rain was POURING down!

The wind was getting stronger and stronger. It started rocking the Cougar fifth wheel so bad that I stood in the kitchen leaning on the counter trying to weigh it down.

Then a big gust came and I could feel the whole camper lean like it was getting light.

I got Jesse and we both got in the truck to wait it out. About an hour later the wind died down and the camper was still there. We went inside but I didn’t sleep well.

I didn’t know if it was just wind or was it the outside of a tornado?

When I went outside in the morning, I couldn’t believe what I saw.

All the leveling blocks that were on the kitchen-side under the tires were now on the other side in the parking lot. Yep, she did get air-borne.

That was the end of this stay.

What I learned: Keep a weather radio handy, and pay attention to the clouds.

Shortly after that, I had Strong-Arm stabilizers installed. Cut down on the wiggle and shimmy, way more solid. Highly Recommended!

Stay safe out there!
