Fitness on the Road

I know exercise can be a challenge for some folks, and ESPECIALLY for those like me who live in a RV.

I used to think that what I did around the rig was exercise enough. I mean the loading and packing when moving to a new spot and then wrestling with the hitch release and setup of the rig when we get there!

Or how about taking the little critter on her many walks? “C’mon dog! You don’t have to find every spot another dog has been do you?”

There are some body parts that weren’t getting used enough, and with all the ‘exercise’ I thought I was getting, the weight wasn’t moving away and flexibility was hiding somewhere.

For now I can’t leave the RV too long as Jesse might need my help or forget where I am. So I have to stick close to home which means no long hikes, and no kayaking. Yeah, I sold my yak because of that. Maybe in the future that will change.

I’m in my late fifties and it isn’t getting easier, so I have found a few things to help me add activity to my on again-off again routine. I hope my tips help you too!

First off, I needed a routine to keep my muscles from withering, and found 7 Minute Workout.
7 minutes on a different muscle group, 3 days a week.

PERFECT!

To increase the effectiveness I use Resistance Bands.
YES!
Like a Bowflex® in a bag!
Here is a video I did where I got the best set of bands for me…

On the Off days, I try to get some yoga moves in. Wow has this help me with stiffness and flexibility!

Another thing that has helped me lose a bit of weight is taking a good source of fiber. It works to control the munchies and to digest anything I do eat better.

I will do another post to elaborate on what products I use that take the guesswork out of it for me, Lord knows I have a lot to deal with besides that.

So if you got something of value here, please comment and share so others might as well!

In Gratitude…..
