As you may have read earlier, I am here in Goshen Indiana, Elkhart County 4H Fairgrounds at the 54th Escapees Escapade – a week-long event that has over 20 seminars on anything relating to RVers, full timers and beginners alike. Things like finances and estate planning, expenses and how to make your dollars go farther, how to maintain the rig of your choice and how to choose the right one for you.
Anyway, we arrived on Saturday and the sun was shining and we actually ran the AC and wore shorts. Well, by Monday the clouds rolled in and by Tuesday we were slammed with sheets of rain!
The infield of the Fairgrounds horse track is where we were parked. Getting in and out to the event via a narrow pathway soon got swamped and by Thursday it was necessary to bring in gravel to keep rigs and vehicles from getting stuck, which by the way, 2 DID get stuck and that is what prompted them to bring in the gravel.
We are OK as of this writing (Thursday afternoon) and we plan on going on what is called a
HOP (head-out-orogram) extra trip to tour the Amish countryside. I’ll share that in another post.
